Dr. Shanta Shepherd is a Urologist at Greater Hartford Urology, and welcoming new patients. She has expertise and particular interest in male and female sexual medicine including erectile dysfunction and hypogonadism and also has an interest in BPH and urinary incontinence.
Dr. Shepherd attended Boston College and completed her Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree in Human Development in 2008. She then went on to work in the field of public health, working internationally in places such as India and Central America, as well as stateside in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in Emergency Preparedness and has done work with refugees. She has a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University in 2012. She pursued her medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin, completing this in 2016. From there she returned to Massachusetts to complete her surgical residency training at Boston Medical Center in Urology, gaining extensive experience in robotics and microsurgery, as well as other cutting-edge technologies and procedures. When Dr. Shepherd is not practicing, she enjoys spending time with her family and travelling. To better serve those in her community, Dr. Shepherd is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
