Jeremy Baker, PA-C, PhD is a general endocrinology physician assistant. He sees patients with a wide range of endocrine issues but has specific clinical interests in men's health, preventative medicine, and chronic disease. He is especially thoughtful about creating a welcoming environment for all patients and enjoys working with underserved communities including the LGBTQIA+ community.
He has a wide range of scientific and clinical experience that makes him a well-rounded provider. He graduated from Taylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training and spent much of the next 10 years working in sports medicine. He then graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2006 with a PhD in Exercise Physiology focused in applied endocrinology. After obtaining his PhD, he became a research professor in nutrition, endocrinology, and physiology for 10 years before returning to school to get his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and becoming a PA. He has research publications and experience in topics as varied as testosterone changes in middle aged and older men, hormonal control of cancer related muscle loss, adaptations to long distance hiking and bone density changes with age.
Jeremy has recently joined Prime Health Care endocrinology and has brought his wide range of experience to this practice. He enjoys using his teaching background to ensure patients have a good understanding their health issues and treatment plans. He especially enjoys working at Prime HealthCare Endocrinology because of the collaborative nature of the team that includes nurses, medical assistants, and advance practice providers as well as a highly professional office support staff.
